| With effect from 1st July 2022 new regulations came into force, which will expand the category of people who can sign statements of fitness for work, or “fit notes”, for the purposes of statutory sick pay and social security claims. Registered nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacists and physiotherapists will be able to sign fit notes. It is hoped that this will reduce the workloads of GPs and free up more of their time to see patients. |
